GLOSSARY
Genotype - the genetic code of a Kotka
Phenotype - the physical appearance of a Kotka due to the genotype
Heterozygous - only one copy of the gene is in the genotype
Homozygous - two copies of the gene are in the genotype
Gene Expression - classifies how many copies of the gene are required for it to express in the phenotype. May be Dominant or Recessive
Dominant - the gene expresses in the phenotype whether Heterozygous or Homozygous
Recessive - the gene expresses in the phenotype only when the genotype is Homozygous

General information
Every breeding must be between two different Kotkas. They can be of any sex, and they both must have completed their AMOROUS ADVENTURES. They must also have enough stamina to breed.
Currently, Kotkas may only produce one kit at a time except under particular conditions. This is subject to change as the game develops.
The cost of breeding is 10 stamina for both Kotka involved. If either Kotka does not have enough stamina, the breeding will not be rolled.
Every player has 2 personal slots a month. This may be increased to three with the use of a Breeding Token, which allows one additional breeding a month and is consumed upon used.
Every player may participate in 1 split breeding a month. A split breeding will count as use of the split breeding slot for both players involved. Split breedings will always produce two kits.
You must either own the Kotki involved, or have a Breeding Permission to the Kotka/s you are breeding.
You cannot write out slots to Kotki that do not have both their Adventurer's Exam and Amorous Adventures completed. Therein, you cannot offer slots to Kotki that cannot be bred, unless you are offering a slot for completing that Kotka's Amorous Adventures.

GENETICS overview
Kotka genes may either be not present, heterozygous, or homozygous.
Kotka genes also have Dominant and Recessive phenotype expression
Genes and markings have rarity values. Common genes have high pass rates, and the less common the gene, the lower the pass rate.
- Heterozygous genes have a percentage chance of passing to the kit
- Homozygous genes will always pass one copy of that gene to the kit
- Markings are rolled from both parents, independent of the genotype of the other parent
Kotka genes also have Dominant and Recessive phenotype expression
- Genes with dominant expression will be in the phenotype if they are in the genotype as either a heterozygous or homozygous gene
- Genes with recessive expression will not express in the phenotype, and thus not appear on the kit, if the gene is heterozygous. If the gene if homozygous, the marking may be on the kit

traits in breeding
In Kotki-Forest, kits traits will always be one of their parents'. Thus when pairing Kotka, be mindful of which traits you pair together. If you don't want a particular type of trait, best not to breed a Kotka with it!
The rarer the trait, the less likely it is to pass to the kit.
The only time a trait may not be a parent's is when a kit has the Double Horn mutation. One pair of the double horns may be any horn type featuring in the kit's visible lineage.

inbreeding
As with many real life animals, inbreeding can result in kits with harmful defects. Inbreeding occurs when the same name appears twice anywhere in the parents visible lineage.
These defects are as follows:
These defects are as follows:
- Blindness - Blind Kotka will have a serious disadvantage imposed upon them when Adventuring
- Haemophilia - Haemophiliac Kotka will have reduced Health and reduced Defence
- Low Fertility - these Kotka will have difficult conceiving, and may result in a miscarriage, or no kits being produced by a breeding involving them.
- Infertilty - Infertily Kotka will never produce kits when bred.
- ????? - an unknown mutation, discover what causes it to have it added here!
