HOW CAN I GET A KOTKA?
There are many ways to get a Kotka, with some listed below.
- The Adoption Center is a great option for first time owners to get their first Kotka
- FTO raffles are sometimes hosted in the group; keep an eye out for them!
- Breeding a Kotka is also viable! All you need are two slots permissions to two parents. More information on this can be found in the Breeding Journal.
- You may also buy/trade for unwanted Kotkas with other players. These may be genos you can design yourself, or already uploaded imports.
- Complete adventuring entries; first time owners may use Group NPCs to complete adventuring entries and earn a Kotka
GENERAL FAQ
Can I join the group?
Of course! The group is open to artists and writers alike, regardless of skill level, and regardless of whether you own a Kotka yet, or not.
Can I make my own Kotka?
Because Kotkas are somewhat of a closed species, you must gain permission from the group to create one. This could be a Semi-custom, an existing import from another member, or a bred genotype
What's the difference between homozygus and heterozygus genes?
A heterozygus gene is where one copy is present, and therefore the marking has a certain percentage chance of being passed onto offspring. A homozygus gene means there's two copies of the gene present, and will always pass one copy to the offspring. Additionally, homozygus genes may have a different physical look on designs. These effects can be as little as extended marking ranges, and as much as changing how the gene looks overall.
What does Dominant and Recessive expression mean?
A Dominant gene in Kotkas means it will show up in the design regardless of whether the Kotka has one or two copies of the gene. A Recessive gene means it needs two copies to show up on the design.
What happens if a Kotka is inbred?
An inbred Kotka will suffer certain penalties to their health rolled at random. More information can be found in the Breeding Guide.
